Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Brown the chicken breasts for about 5 minutes per side until golden and mostly cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth, scraping up browned bits, and simmer for a couple of minutes.
- Reduce heat to medium-low, stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until the sauce thickens.
- Return the chicken to the pan, spoon the sauce over it, and let it cook another few minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and the sauce coats it beautifully.
- Finish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Swap half-and-half for heavy cream for a lighter sauce.
- Add spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor and color.
- For a spicy kick, include red pepper flakes.
- Italian seasoning or thyme can replace parsley.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently in a skillet with a splash of broth or cream to retain creaminess.
