Ingredients

Crescent Rolls

  • 8 ounce package Crescent Rolls (8 rolls)

Strawberry Filling

  • 1/2 cup diced strawberries
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened (half a brick)
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

Vanilla Glaze

  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons heavy cream (or milk)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven and prep baking sheet and crescents: Set oven to the temperature indicated on your crescent roll package (generally between 350-375°F for Pillsbury). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Unroll the crescent dough and carefully separate along the perforated lines using a sharp knife.
  2. Make strawberry filling: Wash and finely dice the strawberries. In a small bowl, combine the diced strawberries with the granulated sugar and stir gently. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Make cream cheese filling: In a medium bowl, add softened cream cheese, 1 tablespoon powdered sugar, and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Optionally, add lemon zest for extra brightness. Using an electric mixer, beat the mixture until it becomes smooth and creamy.
  4. Fill, roll and bake crescents: Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese filling onto each crescent triangle. Use a small rubber spatula to spread it evenly to the edges, scraping off excess if too thick. Next, add about 1 tablespoon of the strawberry mixture on top and spread close to the edges. Starting from the wide end, loosely roll each crescent up, using a lifting motion to avoid pushing out the strawberries. Place the rolls seam side down on the prepared baking sheet and bake for approximately 9 minutes, or until they turn a light golden brown.
  5. Prepare sweet vanilla glaze: While the crescent rolls bake, make the glaze by combining the powdered sugar, heavy cream (or milk), and vanilla extract in a small bowl. Stir until smooth. Add more cream if needed to achieve a drizzling consistency. Once the rolls have been removed from the oven and slightly cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor; canned or frozen do not work as well in this recipe.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for a smooth filling.
  • If you prefer a tangier cream cheese filling, add a teaspoon of lemon zest.
  • Adjust the glaze consistency by adding more or less cream to your preference.
  • Serve these crescent rolls warm for the best taste experience.
