Ingredients

Crust

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 8 to 12 tablespoons butter, melted

Topping

  • 4 Hershey’s chocolate bars (4.4-ounce bars each)
  • 10 ounces mini marshmallows (1 package)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with non-stick butter spray to ensure the bars don’t stick.
  2. Mix Crust Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, and melted butter. Stir well with a spoon until the mixture is evenly blended.
  3. Form the Crust: Transfer the crumb mixture into the prepared pan. Spread it evenly and firmly press down with your fingers to pack the crust along the bottom and up the sides of the pan.
  4. Bake the Crust: Bake in the oven for about 5 to 8 minutes until the edges turn golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.
  5. Add Chocolate Layer: Lay the Hershey’s chocolate bars evenly over the crust, covering as much surface as possible.
  6. Melt the Chocolate: Return the pan to the oven for approximately 3 minutes until the chocolate starts to melt and look shiny.
  7. Add Marshmallows: Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool for 1 to 2 minutes. Place mini marshmallows on top of the melted chocolate, packing them closely together for even coverage.
  8. Broil the Marshmallows: Switch the oven setting to broil. Place the pan on the top rack and broil for about 2 minutes or until the marshmallows begin to brown. Monitor closely to avoid burning.
  9. Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and allow the bars to cool completely. Once cooled, cut into 16 bars and serve.

Notes

  • Press the crust mixture firmly to ensure it holds together when cutting and serving.
  • Keep a close eye during broiling as marshmallows can burn quickly.
  • For variation, try adding chopped nuts or a sprinkle of sea salt over the chocolate before adding marshmallows.
  • Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
