Ingredients

Dough and Cheese

  • 16 oz can jumbo biscuits (each biscuit cut into fourths)
  • 78 mozzarella cheese sticks (cut into 31 pieces)

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 4 tbsp salted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

Other

  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Optional: grated Parmesan cheese for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Cut Biscuit Dough and Cheese: Cut each jumbo biscuit into fourths, yielding about 32 pieces in total, but you will use only 31 pieces. Cut the mozzarella cheese sticks into 31 evenly sized pieces.
  3. Assemble Cheese-Filled Dough Balls: Place a piece of mozzarella cheese on each dough square and pinch the edges tightly to seal the cheese inside. Roll each sealed dough piece between your hands to form smooth balls.
  4. Arrange Dough Balls in Tree Shape: Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, seams facing downward. Arrange them closely so they are touching, forming the shape of a Christmas tree. Brush the entire surface gently with the beaten egg for a shiny golden finish.
  5. Bake the Bread: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-17 minutes until the bread is golden brown. Monitor closely to avoid over-browning; cover with foil if needed to prevent burning.
  6. Prepare Garlic Butter Sauce: While the bread bakes, melt the butter and stir in the minced garlic and Italian seasoning. Once the bread is out of the oven, brush the garlic butter generously over the rolls. Optionally, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Serve the pull-apart cheesy garlic bread immediately, accompanied by marinara or pesto sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Make sure to seal the dough well around the cheese to prevent leaks during baking.
  • Use fresh garlic for best flavor in the garlic butter.
  • If the bread browns too quickly, tent with foil to finish baking without burning.
  • Any type of shredded or string mozzarella cheese can be substituted if sticks are unavailable.
  • This bread is best served warm for gooey, melty cheese experience.
