Ingredients

Fruit

  • 58 ounces sliced peaches in syrup (2 x 29-ounce cans)

Spices

  • ¾ teaspoon cinnamon

Cake Topping

  • 1 box vanilla cake mix
  • ¾ cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Add Peaches: Pour the contents of one can of sliced peaches, including the syrup, into the prepared baking dish. For the second can, drain the syrup and add only the peaches on top of the first layer.
  3. Sprinkle Cinnamon: Evenly sprinkle ¾ teaspoon of cinnamon over the peaches to add warm spice flavor throughout the dish.
  4. Add Cake Mix: Sprinkle the entire box of dry vanilla cake mix evenly over the cinnamon-coated peaches. Do not mix or stir the layers.
  5. Pour Butter: Drizzle ¾ cup of melted butter evenly over the dry cake mix. Again, do not stir; the butter will seep through while baking to create a golden crust.
  6. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Notes

  • Do not stir the layers once assembled; this allows the cake mix to create a crumbly topping.
  • Use fresh or frozen peaches in syrup as a substitute, adjusting sweetness if necessary.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated before serving.
