Ingredients

Steak and Ravioli

  • 12 oz cheese ravioli
  • 8 oz steak, cut into cubes
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Sauce

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 tbsp olive oil, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for garnish
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook Ravioli: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cheese ravioli and cook until al dente, about 3-4 minutes. Drain well and drizzle with 1/2 tablespoon olive oil to prevent sticking, then set aside.
  2. Season Steak: Pat the steak cubes dry and season evenly with salt and black pepper.
  3. Sear Steak: Heat 1 tablespoon butter and 1/2 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak cubes and sear until golden brown and cooked to your preferred doneness, about 3-5 minutes depending on size. Remove the steak from skillet and set aside.
  4. Sauté Garlic: Reduce heat to medium. Add remaining 2 tablespoons butter to the skillet and melt. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden, careful not to burn.
  5. Make Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes if using. Let the sauce simmer gently for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked steak and ravioli to the skillet. Gently toss to coat everything in the garlic butter cream sauce.
  7. Finish and Serve: Simmer everything together for 1-2 more minutes to meld flavors. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen ravioli; adjust cooking time accordingly.
  • For a spicier dish, increase the red pepper flakes to taste.
  • Be careful not to overcook the steak to maintain tenderness.
  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half, though sauce will be less rich.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs like basil or chives for extra flavor.
