Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 8 oz cooked noodles (ramen, lo mein, or spaghetti)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles according to package directions, drain, and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  3. Add garlic and ginger to the skillet and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, water, and sesame oil.
  5. Pour the sauce into the skillet with the beef. Stir and cook until the sauce thickens and coats the meat.
  6. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to combine well.
  7. Top with sliced green onions and red pepper flakes if using. Serve hot.
