Ingredients

6 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
1 large tomato, chopped
4 white radishes, thinly sliced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 peeled cucumber, chopped
¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
¼ cup fresh mint, chopped (or 2 tablespoons dried mint)
Juice of 1 lemon
2 garlic cloves, grated or crushed
4 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons za’atar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Place the chopped romaine lettuce, tomato, radishes, red bell pepper, and cucumber in a large salad bowl.
Add the chopped parsley and mint.
Squeeze the fresh lemon juice evenly over the salad, removing any seeds.
Grate or crush the garlic directly over the salad.
Drizzle the olive oil around the edges of the bowl.
Using clean hands or salad tongs, gently toss everything together until evenly combined.
Sprinkle with za’atar, salt, and black pepper to taste.
Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

Fresh mint provides the most authentic flavor, but dried mint works well too.
Add crumbled feta cheese for extra richness.
Serve alongside grilled meats, shawarma, kebabs, falafel, or hummus.
For extra crunch, add sliced green onions or toasted pita chips.
Best enjoyed fresh, as the vegetables release moisture over time.
