Ingredients

For the Cake Base
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¾ cup unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Oven

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch round or square cake pan with parchment paper.

Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together:

Flour
Baking powder
Salt

Set aside.

Step 3: Make the Cake Batter

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Mix in:

Lemon zest
Lemon juice
Vanilla extract
