Ingredients

Crust

  • 50 Oreo cookies
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 16 ounces Cool Whip (two 8-ounce tubs)

Pudding Layer

  • 6.8 ounces instant chocolate pudding (two 3.4-ounce packages)
  • 2½ cups 2% milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the baking dish: Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray to prevent sticking and ensure easy serving.
  2. Crush Oreos: Use a food processor to finely crush 50 Oreo cookies. Remove ¾ cup of the crushed Oreos to reserve for topping later, and set aside.
  3. Make the crust: Combine the remaining crushed Oreos with ½ cup melted unsalted butter. Press this mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust. Freeze for a few minutes to set.
  4. Prepare cream cheese layer: In a mixing bowl, beat 8 ounces softened cream cheese with 1 cup confectioners’ sugar until smooth and creamy. Add one tub (8 ounces) of Cool Whip and beat gently for about 30 seconds until combined without overmixing.
  5. Layer cream cheese mixture: Carefully drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the chilled Oreo crust, then gently spread it evenly without disturbing the crust layer underneath.
  6. Make pudding layer: In a separate bowl, whisk together two 3.4-ounce packages of instant chocolate pudding mix with 2½ cups of 2% milk. Beat for about 2 minutes until the pudding thickens.
  7. Spread pudding layer: Evenly spread the prepared pudding over the cream cheese layer in the baking dish.
  8. Top with Cool Whip and Oreos: Spread the remaining tub (8 ounces) of Cool Whip over the pudding layer. Sprinkle the reserved ¾ cup crushed Oreos on top as a decorative and crunchy topping.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for smooth mixing.
  • Do not overbeat the Cool Whip in the cream cheese mixture to maintain its fluffiness.
  • Freezing the crust briefly helps it set solid and prevents mixing when adding the layers.
  • This dessert is best served chilled and can be refrigerated for a few hours before serving.
  • Use nonstick spray generously to make serving easier.
