Ingredients

Meat and Seasoning

  • 1 lb thinly sliced steak (ribeye or sirloin recommended)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Vegetables

  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Condiments and Cheese

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 12 slider rolls or buns

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Vegetables: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced bell pepper and yellow onion. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are soft and slightly caramelized. Add minced garlic during the last minute of cooking, then remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Cook the Steak: Season the thinly sliced steak with salt and pepper. In the same skillet, increase heat to medium-high and quickly cook the steak slices for 2-3 minutes until just browned but not overcooked. Remove from heat.
  3. Assemble the Sliders: Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the inside of each slider bun. Layer cooked steak on the bottom buns, followed by the sautéed peppers and onions mixture. Top each with a slice of provolone cheese.
  4. Melt the Cheese: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the assembled sliders on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted and the sliders are warmed through.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Remove sliders from the oven, place the top buns on each, and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Use ribeye or sirloin for the best flavor and tenderness in the steak.
  • For extra creaminess, mix some diced pickled jalapeños into the mayonnaise spread.
  • To save time, you can prepare the cooked vegetables and steak mixture ahead and assemble just before baking.
  • Slider rolls can be substituted with small hoagie rolls or mini baguettes if preferred.
  • Serve with a side of pickles or chips for a complete meal.
