Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (lean or regular)
  • 12 oz pasta (penne, fusilli, or similar)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté chopped onion until soft, about 3–4 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
  5. Pour in beef broth and simmer for 5 minutes to deepen the flavor.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook until slightly thickened, about 3–4 minutes.
  7. Add parmesan cheese and stir until melted and sauce is creamy.
  8. Toss in cooked pasta and stir until evenly coated.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with parsley and extra parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • Use ground turkey, chicken, or sausage as an alternative to beef.
  • Add spinach, mushrooms, or peas for a veggie boost.
  • Swap heavy cream for half-and-half or add cream cheese for a lighter or tangier version.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Add a splash of cream or milk when reheating.
  • Do not freeze—the cream sauce may separate.
