Ingredients

1 (20-ounce) bag frozen meatballs (or homemade meatballs)
½ cup hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
½ tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon brown sugar
Green onions, diced (for garnish)
Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Place the frozen meatballs into the crockpot or slow cooker.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic powder, and brown sugar until smooth.
Pour the sauce mixture over the meatballs.
Gently toss the meatballs to coat them evenly with the sauce.
Cover and cook on High for 1–2 hours or Low for 2–4 hours, stirring occasionally to distribute the sauce.
Once heated through and coated in the thickened sauce, transfer to a serving dish if desired.
Garnish with diced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

For the best flavor, use homestyle frozen meatballs instead of Italian-style meatballs.
Homemade meatballs work wonderfully in this recipe as well.
Stir occasionally during cooking to ensure the sauce coats every meatball evenly.
This recipe can easily be doubled for larger gatherings. Use an 8-quart slow cooker when doubling.
Serve with toothpicks as an appetizer or over rice for a simple meal.
