Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Olive oil (for cooking)
  • Burger buns and toppings (lettuce, tomato, mustard, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Sauté chopped spinach in olive oil until wilted, then set aside to cool slightly.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, shredded white cheddar, sautéed spinach, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
  4. Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat and add olive oil. Cook patties for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F).
  5. Serve the burgers on toasted buns with desired toppings.

Notes

  • For a fresh flavor, add chopped parsley or basil to the mixture.
  • For spiciness, mix in red pepper flakes or hot sauce.
  • Swap white cheddar for feta for a Mediterranean twist.
  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free breadcrumbs or rolled oats.
  • Serve the burgers bunless with roasted veggies or in a wrap for a low-carb option.
