Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for coating)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Optional: mashed potatoes, rice, or rolls for serving

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Lightly coat in flour.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and keep warm.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, scraping the pan. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Season sauce with salt and pepper. Return chicken to skillet and spoon sauce over top.
  6. Simmer 2–3 more minutes. Garnish with parsley and serve hot over your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Add a splash of white wine or red pepper flakes for depth and heat.
  • Use half-and-half or cream cheese for a richer sauce.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms to stretch it into a one-skillet dinner.
  • Reheat with extra broth or cream to keep sauce smooth.
  • Use plant-based alternatives for a dairy-free version.
