Ingredients

  • Refrigerated pizza dough or homemade dough
  • Mozzarella cheese sticks or cubes
  • Mini pepperoni (optional)
  • Italian seasoning
  • Garlic powder
  • Olive oil or melted butter
  • Marinara or pizza sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough and cut into small squares (~2–3 inches).
  3. Place a piece of mozzarella (and pepperoni, if using) in the center of each square.
  4. Fold dough around the filling, pinch edges to seal, and roll into a smooth ball.
  5. Place each ball seam‑side down on the baking sheet, allowing space between them.
  6. Brush tops with olive oil or melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  8. Serve warm with marinara or pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Use mozzarella sticks or low‑moisture mozzarella for better melting and minimal sogginess.
  • Press dough edges firmly to prevent bursting during baking.
  • Freeze assembled bites before baking—add a couple of minutes to the bake time when cooking frozen.
  • Brush with garlic butter and finish with grated Parmesan for extra flavor.
