Ingredients

  • 1–2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 lb ground breakfast sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water or milk (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage (and onion if using) until browned and cooked through. Drain and let cool slightly.
  2. In a bowl, mix cooked sausage with cream cheese, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Unroll crescent dough on a floured surface and gently press seams to seal.
  5. Spoon filling onto the wide end of each triangle and roll up into crescents. Place seam-side down on baking sheet.
  6. Brush tops with egg wash.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  8. Cool slightly before serving warm.
