Ingredients

  • 4 cups crisp corn or rice cereal squares (like Corn Chex)
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cereal and pecans.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in brown sugar and corn syrup. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and baking soda (it will foam up).
  5. Pour the praline mixture over the cereal and pecans, stirring quickly to coat evenly.
  6. Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes for even coating and crispness.
  8. Let cool completely before breaking into pieces and storing in an airtight container.
