Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices or 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup marinara or pizza sauce
  • 16 pepperoni slices
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 2 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)
  • Optional toppings: sautéed onions, green peppers, mushrooms, or olives

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Form into 4 burger patties.
  2. Grill or pan-fry patties over medium-high heat until cooked to your desired doneness.
  3. While patties cook, toast the hamburger buns in a skillet with butter until golden brown.
  4. Once patties are nearly done, top each with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni slices. Cover the pan to let the cheese melt.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing the cheesy, saucy patty on the bottom bun, adding any optional toppings, and finishing with the top bun. Serve immediately.
