Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 small onion, diced

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup Bisquick baking mix (or homemade substitute)

1 cup milk

2 large eggs

Optional toppings: pickles, sliced tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, lettuce

Instructions

Preheat Oven:
Preheat to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish.

Cook Beef Mixture:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until meat is browned and onions are soft. Drain excess grease. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Assemble Pie:
Transfer the beef mixture into the prepared pie dish. Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly over the meat.

Mix Batter:
In a separate bowl, whisk together Bisquick, milk, and eggs until smooth. Pour over the meat and cheese.

Bake:
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool & Serve:
Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with optional toppings like pickles or ketchup for that cheeseburger feel.

Notes

No Bisquick? Use 1 cup flour, 1½ tsp baking powder, ½ tsp salt, and 1 tbsp cold butter cut in.

Customize It: Add jalapeños, switch up the cheese, or use ground turkey for a lighter version.

Double It: Use a 9×13-inch baking dish and double all ingredients. Bake 5–10 minutes longer.
