Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • For the glaze:
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and peanut butter until smooth.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  4. Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
  5. Spread dough evenly in prepared pan. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. While bars are baking, make the glaze: melt peanut butter and butter in a saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  7. Pour warm glaze over slightly cooled bars and spread evenly.
  8. Allow glaze to set before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • Add chocolate chips to the dough for a chocolate-peanut butter twist.
  • Sprinkle chopped peanuts on the glaze for texture.
  • Use crunchy peanut butter if desired for more bite.
  • Cool completely and use a clean knife for neat cuts.
  • Bars can be frozen for longer storage; thaw before serving.
