These flavorful chicken burgers are loaded with herbs, lemon, and feta, then topped with creamy tzatziki and fresh veggies for a Mediterranean twist on a classic favorite.
1 lb ground chicken (93% lean recommended)
½ cup feta cheese (sub goat cheese or omit for dairy-free)
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup fresh parsley or dill
1 teaspoon dried oregano (or fresh)
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1 tablespoon lemon juice
½ cup breadcrumbs (or almond flour for gluten-free)
1 large egg
1 cup tzatziki sauce (store-bought or homemade)
2 cups fresh vegetables (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers)
4 buns or pita (whole grain or gluten-free)
Prepare the Burger Mixture
Gather all ingredients and finely chop onion, garlic, and herbs.
In a large bowl, gently mix ground chicken, onion, garlic, feta, herbs, oregano, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, lemon zest, lemon juice, breadcrumbs, and egg until just combined.
Shape into evenly sized patties, about ¾-inch thick.
Cooking Methods
Choose your preferred method—cook until burgers reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Grill: Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Cook 6–7 minutes per side.
Pan-Sear: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook 5–6 minutes per side until browned.
Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake on a lined sheet pan for 20–25 minutes.
Air Fry: Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Cook 12–14 minutes, flipping halfway.
