  • 4 cups cooked white or brown rice
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Cook chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 6–7 minutes per side.
  4. Mix honey and BBQ sauce together.
  5. Brush honey BBQ sauce over chicken and let caramelize slightly in the pan, about 2–3 minutes.
  6. Prepare or reheat rice while chicken cooks.
  7. Slice chicken and serve over a bed of rice.
  8. Drizzle any extra sauce from the pan on top.
  9. Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Add sautéed bell peppers or corn to rice for extra texture and color.
  • Use smoked paprika or cayenne for smoky or spicy variations.
  • Swap regular BBQ sauce for vinegar-based sauce for a tangier twist.
  • Adjust honey amount to control sweetness.
  • Great for meal prep and reheats well.
