  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup onion, grated or finely chopped
  • For the sauce:
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, sliced or minced
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  7. Return meatballs to the sauce, cover, and simmer for 25–30 minutes until fully cooked and sauce is rich.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil and extra Parmesan, if desired. Serve hot.
