Delicious classic cinnamon cruffins recipe ready in 30 minutes with buttery crescent dough, sweet cinnamon sugar, and flaky bakery-style layers. A quick homemade dessert or breakfast treat.
3 cans crescent roll dough
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 2: Prepare the Dough
On a lightly floured or sugared surface, roll out each crescent roll dough sheet and pinch together the perforated seams.
Use a rolling pin to flatten each sheet into large rectangles.
Step 3: Add Butter and Cinnamon Sugar
Spread a thin layer of softened butter evenly over each sheet.
In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Reserve half of the mixture for topping later.
Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture evenly across the buttered dough sheets.
Step 4: Roll and Slice
Starting from the long edge of each rectangle, roll the dough tightly into a log.
Cut each log in half, then slice each half lengthwise to reveal the layered dough.
Repeat with the remaining dough sheets to create 12 pieces total.
Step 5: Shape the Cruffins
Take each piece of dough and wrap it around your finger or loosely coil it to form a muffin shape, keeping the layered side facing outward.
Place each shaped cruffin into the greased muffin pan.
Step 6: Bake
Bake on the middle oven rack for 18–20 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through, until the cruffins are golden brown and crisp.
Step 7: Finish and Serve
Remove the cruffins from the oven and let them rest in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
While still warm, sprinkle each cruffin generously with the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze for an extra sweet finish.
Add cream cheese filling or Nutella inside the dough before rolling for a fun variation.
Best enjoyed fresh the same day while the layers are crisp and flaky.
