Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef steak (sirloin, chuck, or stew meat), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or stock
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or dried herbs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes, chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season steak bites with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Add steak to crockpot. Top with garlic, melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce (if using), and beef broth.
  3. Stir gently to combine. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until steak is tender.
  4. Optional: during the last 30 minutes, stir in a cornstarch slurry if you prefer a thicker sauce.
  5. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving if desired.

Notes

  • Add onions or mushrooms for extra flavor and heartiness.
  • Sear steak bites before slow cooking for a richer flavor base.
  • Use red wine or balsamic vinegar for added depth in the sauce.
  • Ensure soy and Worcestershire sauces are gluten-free if needed.
  • Reheat gently with a splash of broth for best texture.
