Ingredients

1.5 lbs (680 g) beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes

1 (12 fl oz / 355 ml) can Coca-Cola Classic

1 (1 oz / 28 g) packet brown gravy mix

1 (1 oz / 28 g) packet dry Italian dressing mix

¼ cup (60 ml) Worcestershire sauce

¼ cup (60 ml) soy sauce

2 tablespoons (30 ml) ketchup

1 tablespoon (15 ml) Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon (5 ml) garlic powder

½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) onion powder

¼ teaspoon (1.25 ml) black pepper

2 tablespoons (30 ml) cornstarch

2 tablespoons (30 ml) cold water

Optional: 1 tablespoon (15 ml) butter

Instructions

Step 1: Add Beef

Place the beef stew meat directly into the crockpot.

Step 2: Make the Sauce

In a bowl, whisk together the Coca-Cola, brown gravy mix, Italian dressing mix, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, ketchup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.

Step 3: Combine

Pour the sauce mixture over the beef. Stir gently to coat all pieces evenly.

Step 4: Slow Cook

Cover and cook:

Low: 6–8 hours

High: 3–4 hours
Until the beef is very tender.

Step 5: Thicken the Gravy

In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water. During the last 30 minutes of cooking, stir the slurry into the crockpot to thicken the sauce.

Step 6: Finish & Serve

(Optional) Stir in butter just before serving for extra richness. Serve hot over rice, egg noodles, or mashed potatoes.

Notes

Cola helps tenderize the beef while adding subtle sweetness.

For extra depth, sear the beef cubes before adding to the crockpot (optional).

Leftovers taste even better the next day.
