Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all‑purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 23 drops gel blue food coloring
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup crushed Oreo cookies
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chip cookies (store‑bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg, vanilla extract, and gel blue food coloring until evenly colored.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips, crushed Oreos, and mini cookies, saving a few to press on top.
  7. Scoop dough into balls, place them on the baking sheets a couple of inches apart.
  8. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are set and centers are still slightly soft.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Chill dough for 20–30 minutes for thicker, chewier cookies.
  • Use gel food coloring for vibrant color without changing the dough consistency.
  • Swap mix-ins: try M&M’s, white chocolate chips, or chopped Chips Ahoy.
  • Ensure butter isn’t too soft to prevent cookies from spreading too much.
  • Freeze baked or unbaked cookies in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
