Ingredients

  • 6 slices sandwich bread (white or whole wheat, crusts removed)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F or heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Trim crusts from bread and flatten each slice with a rolling pin.
  3. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  4. Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each bread slice.
  5. Roll up each slice tightly, butter-side in, pressing the edge to seal.
  6. Brush the outside with more butter and roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.
  7. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet or cook in skillet with a little butter until golden, about 6–8 minutes. If baking, bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and crisp.

Notes

  • For a filling, add Nutella, cream cheese, or jam before rolling.
  • Air fry at 350°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Add a sprinkle of powdered sugar after cooking for extra sweetness.
