Ingredients

  • 2 cans (8-count) cinnamon roll dough, unbaked
  • 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the sliced apples evenly in the bottom of the prepared dish.
  3. Sprinkle the apples with ground cinnamon and toss to coat evenly.
  4. Cut the cinnamon roll dough into large chunks and distribute over the apples.
  5. Drizzle caramel sauce generously over the cinnamon roll pieces.
  6. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top, if using.
  7. Bake for 30–35 minutes until cinnamon rolls are golden and cooked through and caramel is bubbling.
  8. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving to allow caramel to set slightly.

Notes

  • Swap half the apples for pears for a softer, floral twist.
  • Add nutmeg or pumpkin spice for extra warmth.
  • Layer in softened cream cheese for added richness.
  • Use maple syrup instead of caramel for a different flavor.
  • Tastes even better the next day—great make-ahead option.
