  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow or butter cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cake mix, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until well combined into a thick dough.
  3. Fold in toffee bits, chocolate chips, and nuts if using.
  4. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan using a spatula or hands.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until edges are golden and center is just set.
  6. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Use chocolate or spice cake mix for variation.
  • Sprinkle sea salt on top after baking for a salted twist.
  • Try white chocolate or peanut butter chips for a flavor change.
  • Don’t overbake—bars will continue to firm as they cool.
  • Freeze leftovers between parchment layers for up to 3 months.
