Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 5 small flour tortillas (cut in half)
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour + 2 tbsp water (for sealing paste)
  • Oil for frying or brushing (if baking)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a skillet and sauté onion until soft.
  2. Add garlic, ginger, and green chili (if using); cook for 1 minute.

  4. Stir in cumin, coriander, garam masala, turmeric, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Mix in chopped cilantro and let filling cool slightly.
  6. Cut tortillas in half. Form a cone with one half using flour-water paste to seal the edge.

  8. Pan-fry in oil until golden and crispy, or bake at 400°F for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Notes

  • Add peas or potatoes for extra texture.
  • Use ground lamb for a richer version.
  • Add cheese for a melty twist.
  • Whole wheat tortillas offer a healthier option.
  • Serve with mint chutney, yogurt sauce, or ketchup.
