Ingredients

2 cans (21 oz each) fruit pie filling (apple, cherry, peach, or berry)

1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix, dry

¾ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Spread the fruit pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish.

Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the fruit. Gently level the surface—do not stir.

Slowly drizzle melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much of the surface as possible.

Bake uncovered for 35–45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and fruit is bubbling around the edges.

Remove from oven and let rest 10–15 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for best results.

Try spice cake mix with apple filling for a fall-inspired version.

Cherry filling with chocolate cake mix makes a richer, more decadent dessert.

For less sweetness, use a tart fruit filling or reduce cake mix to ⅔ of the box.

Add oats or chopped nuts for extra texture.

To make a smaller batch, halve the recipe and bake in an 8×8-inch dish.
