Ingredients

  • 1/2 loaf French bread or Italian loaf, sliced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced or grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella (optional, for cheesy garlic bread)

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix softened butter with garlic, salt, and chopped parsley until combined.
  3. Spread garlic butter evenly over each bread slice.
  4. Top with Parmesan or mozzarella cheese if using.
  5. Place slices in air fryer basket in a single layer. Work in batches if needed.
  6. Air fry for 4–6 minutes, until edges are golden and crispy and butter is melted.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use garlic powder if fresh garlic isn’t available—about 1/2 tsp per tbsp butter.
  • Add red pepper flakes for heat or swap herbs for variety.
  • Store leftovers at room temp up to 2 days; reheat in air fryer for crispiness.
  • Make ahead by preparing garlic butter and assembling bread slices, then refrigerating until ready to air fry.
  • To keep slices from flying, press gently or place a rack on top in the air fryer.
